Madison – a former collegiate athlete – works with athletes to better fuel their sport and their health. She’s also in network with BCBS of KS, United Healthcare, UMR, Aetna, which may cover nutrition counseling appointments!

You can meet Madison at some of our practices, and STC Youth Team Members will have access to her advice, suggestions, and recipes for snacks and meals to help keep a healthy focus!

STC to Host Youth Indoor January “Chiller” Meet – January 24-25, 2025

We are excited to announce the scheduling of a Youth Indoor Meet in 2025!

The Shocker Track Club Youth Indoor Classic January Chiller Meet will be held on Friday and Saturday, January 24-25, 2025, at the Wichita State University Heskett Center.  This meet is for Youth athletes ages 8U through 18 (and high school seniors). The meet registration fee – online registration only – is $35 for up to four (4) individual events.

Pole Vault, Triple Jump, and High School Shot Put will be held on Friday evening, January 24, 2025.
All other Field and Running Events will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Complete Meet Information, including the Meet Schedule, is attached below for your review and reference.  This document may be adjusted and updated up until the day of the meet if any changes are necessary.

Our Youth Team Strategic Partner for Personal Training – Fundamental Fitness

We are thrilled to reintroduce our key strategic partner for personal training services – Fundamental Fitness!

Fundamental Fitness is a personal training gym in the heart of downtown Wichita owned by master trainer, Renaire Palmer. Renaire’s  vision has developed a fitness facility where Fun, Fit, and Family are the guiding principles. Over nearly 15 years, Renaire has remained steadfast in his commitment to these values through events and community involvement, making Fundamental Fitness a trusted and welcoming fitness destination.

Wichita State University Pumpkin Run – October 19, 2024

We’re looking forward to again sponsoring this on-campus fun run on Saturday, October 19, 2024!  We will have a booth – stop by for treats, to say hello, or visit with our Coaches about our Indoor Track and Field programs – and will facilitate the group warm-up activities before the start of the races!  Competitions begin at 900a!

Indoor (October through February) Youth Track and Field Program –
When – October 2024 through February 2025 – three (3) to five (5) practices per week.
Where – Wichita State University’s Heskett Center (and other select locations)
What – Training is available for every event in Track and Field
Who – Youth (minimum age of 9)* through 18 and current high school seniors.

Shocker Track Club Youth Team Athletes Qualify to/and Compete in USATF Junior Olympics

Sixteen (16) STC Youth Team athletes qualified to compete in the USATF Junior Olympics to be held this week at Texas A&M University!  Fourteen (14) were able to compete.  See our Instagram page @shocker_track_club for more details and photos!

The athletes are – Rory Stevenson (Middle Distance), Sebastian Gerlach (Javelin), Trevor Russell (Middle Distance), Demarco Wilcher (Sprints), Ripley Cole (Jumps), Cooper Nation (High Jump), Adeline Mick (Jumps), Ashlyn Brennan (Long Jump), Remyngton Naylor (Jumps), Malin Carlson (Middle Distance), Vivian Lieurance (Hurdles and PV), Megan Smart (Javelin), Mariah Hutton (High Jump), Kiera Smith (Sprints), Kayla Frost (Jumps), KateLyn Nichols (High Jump), Lillian Stafford (Throws) and Adryana Shelby (Hurdles). This will be the second consecutive Junior Olympics qualification for KateLyn Nichols and Adryana Shelby, with Shelby a returning medalist in the 100mH in 2023.

Multiple STC Youth Team Alumni were recognized by The Wichita Eagle in their 2024 High School Girls and Boys All Metro Track and Field Teams.  Recognized STC Alumni members trained with the STC Youth team during the 2023-2024 Indoor Team, or are currently training with the 2024 Outdoor Team.  Congratulations to the athletes listed below for their outstanding achievements during their recent high school seasons!  All hard workers and outstanding young people!

Youth Spring/Summer Outdoor Season Begins in May

We are pleased to again offer Spring/Summer Track and Field Training beginning on May 1, 2024. Kids can join at any time during the Spring/Summer Season. The first practice will be Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 615p until 745p outside at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium.  Athletes ages 7 through 18 (and May 2o24 High School graduates) are able to participate.  Training for Sprinting, Distance, Hurdles, Jumps, Throws and Pole Vault begins in June!

All Practices will be held on the Wichita State University campus at Cessna Stadium or inside the Heskett Center.  Practices begin with an organized, group warm-up activity designed to both stretch and teach appropriate and applicable body movement positions necessary for every event in Track and Field.  See below for general information.
