STC Youth Fall/Winter 2025-2026 Indoor Track & Field Program Information
Yes; we WILL have Fall/Winter Indoor programs!
The minimum age for participating in our Indoor programs is nine (9).
No experience is necessary, but this program is for athletes serious about learning and improving their Track and Field skills. STC provides training in every event in Track and Field; all implements, and equipment are provided.

This program –
– will be held indoors at the Wichita State University Heskett Center and is for Youth and Adults.
– is mandatory for kids 10-and-Under interested in joining STC for the first time.
– is primarily a fitness program with no specific event work.
– facilitates activities of a Track-centric nature focusing on the “standard and proper movements” for all events in Track and Field!

Wichita State University Pumpkin Run – October 19, 2024
We’re looking forward to again sponsoring this on-campus fun run on Saturday, October 19, 2024! We will have a booth – stop by for treats, to say hello, or visit with our Coaches about our Indoor Track and Field programs – and will facilitate the group warm-up activities before the start of the races! Competitions begin at 900a!

Indoor (October through February) Youth Track and Field Program –
When – October 2024 through February 2025 – three (3) to five (5) practices per week.
Where – Wichita State University’s Heskett Center (and other select locations)
What – Training is available for every event in Track and Field
Who – Youth (minimum age of 9)* through 18 and current high school seniors.

September Intercession Fitness Program Begins on September 1, 2022
The September Intercession Fitness Program begins on Thursday September 1, 2022 at 615p at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium Track. The Registration Fee is $30. Coaches for this program will facilitate general fitness, speed, strength, and endurance activities. This program serves as a precursor to the STC Youth Indoor Program. Complete information follows. Results – Indoor Meet for Adult (Open, Elite, Masters) Athletes
Thank you to the athletes that were able to compete in our meet. It was truly a challenge to plan and facilitate but could not have been done with out the tireless work of Friends University Track and Field, our many Officials, and an outstanding group of safety-minded and courageous athletes. A big shout-out to Gary Patton, M75, who ran 5:55.26 in the mile, breaking the American indoor record by 15 seconds!

Attention Open, Elite, and Masters Track Athletes –
Registration is now open for the 2021 Friends U*Ottawa U*Shcoker Track Club First Chance Qualifier.
Only 75 athletes in the Open (ages 19-29), Elite (Ages 19 and above), and Masters (Ages 30 and up) categories will be approved to compete. Slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Interested Open and Elite Athletes MUST contact Darren Muci at president@shockertrackclub.com to begin the registration process and provide their name, birthdate, email, cell phone, and events. If approved by Meet Management a link will be provided to complete the meet registration process and make payment.
Interested Masters Athletes contact contact Joe Hoover at masters@shockertrackclub.com to begin the registration process and provide their name, birthdate, email, cell phone, and events. If approved by Meet Management a link will be provided to complete the meet registration process and make payment.
Entry Fees are $25 for a maximum of three (3) events.
The deadline for registration in Direct Athletics is 5:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

Save The Date – 2020 STC Bill Butterworth Indoor Classic

The 2020 Shocker Track Club Bill Butterworth will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 and Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Wichita State University’s Heskett Center Track. Events will be held for Youth, High School, Open and Elite, and Masters athletes! All eligible athletes may compete. The complete schedule will be announced soon!

UPDATED – STC Youth Indoor Track & Field and Pole Vault Program Information!
The Shocker Track Club is pleased to provide information about the 2019 – 2020 Indoor Youth Track and Field and Pole Vault training! Complete information is provided in the documents that can be downloaded below.
Indoor Track and Field training (ages 5 through 18) begins in early October at Wichita State’s Heskett Center. Practices will be held twice weekly in October and November, and three times weekly in December, January and February.
Indoor Pole Vault training (all ages of athletes) begins in early November at NE Magnet High School. Practices will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday afternoons through February.

Registration Opens for the 2019 STC Wichita Outdoor Masters/Open Meet!
The wait is finally over! Registration is now open for the 2019 Shocker Track Club Wichita Outdoor Masters/Open Track Meet! Block the late afternoon and early evening of Friday, September 20th for Throws Events, and all day on Saturday, September 21st for (morning) Horizontal Jumps, High Jump, Pole Vault, and a (afternoon) full slate of Running Events!
