Planning is underway for a Spring/Summer Outdoor Youth Track and Field Program for athletes ages 7 and older.  Information is now available!  See below for program information and details.

(1) The first practice will be on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 630p to 800p inside the Wichita State University Heskett Center. The track is on the 2nd floor.
(1a) If your child is new to Track and Field, you are welcome to come observe a practice, or your child can participate in a free try-it-out practice before joining.
(2) Practices in April will be held inside the Wichita State University Heskett Center on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 630p to 800p.
(2a) Parking in the lot SE of the Heskett Center (S of the Wilkins Softball Stadium) is extremely limited due to construction activity.  Parents should consider parking in large lot W of the Eck Baseball Stadium.
(3) Athletes ages 7 through 6th grade – and other athletes that are NOT participating for their school programs – are eligible to join in April.
(3a) Practices in April will focus on Warming Up, Running, Sprinting and Distance, and the basics for Long Jump, High Jump and Throws.
(4) Practice locations for May, June and July will be announced later this spring.
(5) Middle School athletes participating for their school team/programs can join us at the end of their seasons.
(6) High School athletes participating for their high school team/programs can join us at the end of their seasons – typically in late May or in June after either their League Meet, Regional Meet, or the State High School Track Meet.
(7) Athletes Graduating from High School this spring are eligible to join us for summer training. A special reduced rate is available for athletes that previously trained with STC.

The Shocker Track Club is a USATF Club, and a USATF Youth membership ( www.usatf.org ) is required for Youth athletes competing in track meets in June and July.

PREVIOUS SEASON INFORMATION –
2025-2026 Fall/Winter Indoor program information – 
The minimum age for participating in our Indoor programs is nine (9).

No experience is necessary, but this program is for athletes serious about learning and improving their Track and Field skills. STC provides training in every event in Track and Field; all implements, and equipment are provided.

This program –

– is mandatory for kids 10-and-Under interested in joining STC for the first time.

– facilitates activities of a Track-centric nature focusing on the “standard and proper movements” for all events in Track and Field!
