Shocker Track Club Elite Team members Dominic Artis and Chris Peters, and Open Team members Dy’Kestair Matlock, Bret Sy, and Froebel Artis all competed well at the Wichita State University Herm Wilson Invitational at the Wichita State Heskett Center.

Elite Team member Peters won the Pole Vault with a clearance of 4.71m (15′-5-1/2″) while finishing 15th in the Shot Put with a throw of 12.27m (40′-3-1/4″)!  Artis – competing in his season opener after qualifying in the 2022 USATF Indoor National Championship Meet – tied for 8th overall with a 7.00 clocking in the 60m.

Open Team member Matlock established new PRs in the 60m (7.13 for 18th place) and 200m (23.40 for 10th place)!  Bret Sy – competing with just two weeks of practice – finished 35th place with a time of 55.44 in the 400m.  Acelas finished in 44th place in the 400m in 59.62 and 49th place in the 200m in 26.13.

All five STC members will return to competition in various meets in February as they continue their development.

September 2022 Intercession –
This program will be held at Wichita State’s Cessna Stadium. Ten (10) practices will be held during September on the Cessna Stadium track with a focus on general fitness through running, strength development, plyometrics, and ab exercises and other activities.
Practice Dates > September 1, 7, 10, 12, 14, 19, 21, 24, 26, and 28 (10 and 24 are Saturday morning practices)

Youth Athletes > $30 (Ages 8 through 18 (current high school students))

Indoor 2022-2023 Youth Track and Field –
This program begins in October and lasts through the end of February with activities generally held indoors in the evenings at Wichita State’s Heskett Center.  Other practice locations are possible.  Training and Coaches are available for every event in Track and Field. The minimum age for Youth athletes is eight (8).  Adult athletes of all ages can also participate.  In October and November, 2-3 practices are typically held each week.  In December through February 3-4 practices are typically held each week.
Youth Athletes > $130 Joiner Fee for the first month with a $25 additional fee for each additional month.
Adult Athletes > $80 (Open and Masters Teams)
