Hiland Dairy, Westar Energy, and Envision Return as Sponsors; Dylan Hartnett American Family Insurance Becomes a Sponsor
Shocker Track Club is pleased to announce of the renewal of sponsorship agreements for 2017-2018 with local organizations Hiland Dairy, Westar Energy, and Envision, and a new agreement with the Dylan Hartnett American Family Insurance Agency !
Hiland Dairy, a full-service provider of wholesome dairy products, sponsors the STC Youth Team, and provides awesome beverages for all STC sponsors meets and events!
Envision, a Wichita-based organization with a national reach, helps improve the quality of life for individuals who are blind or visually-impaired, sponsors the STC Volunteer Group. STC and Wichita State Track and Field sponsor “Envision 100m Dash” races for blind/visually impaired athletes at one meet annually.
Westar Energy, the largest electric provider in Kansas, sponsors the STC Youth Team. Westar Energy provides safe and reliable electrical services to over 700,000 customers in east, and east-central Kansas.
The Dylan Hartnett American Family Insurance Agency, an Augusta, Kansas based insurance company, offers dependable auto, home, business, health, and life insurance, sponsors operations expenses of STC. Owner Dylan Hartnett is a former member of the STC Elite Team, is a Board Member and Director of the STC Open Team.
STC Youth Pole Vaulters Sign Letters of Intent
Four Shocker Track Club Youth Pole Vault Team members recently signed National Letters of Intent! The future collegiate vaulters include – Mia Magby (Maize High) signed with Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri; Kris Wood (Derby High) signed with Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas; Hannah Buller (Goddard High) signed with Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, and Jewel Eck (Andale High) signed with Wichita State University. Congratulations to Mia, Kris, Hannah and Jewel for their outstanding work on the track and in the classroom!
STC Youth Team Informational Meeting and Registration Forms
This is a friendly reminder that the first of three Parent Information meetings will be held on Thursday, March 30th at 700p.
The meeting will be held at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium in the Track and Field Team Room. Parking is available in a small lot off 21st Street between the Charles Koch Arena Practice Gym and the northwest corner of Cessna Stadium. The Team Room door is at the bottom of the ramp that leads to the track. We will post signs to guide you.

Volunteers for WSU Track & Field Meets Needed!
If you are looking for a fun opportunity to assist in the facilitation of a Wichita State University Track and Field meet, we’ve got a deal for you! Actually three (3) deals! Wichita State University will host three T&F meets this spring – April 13-15, May 5, and May 12-14 – at Cessna Stadium. Volunteers are provided with an event t-shirt and meals and beverages. We need you!!

Youth Outdoor Parent Information Meeting Scheduled
STC is pleased to announce that the first of three Parent Information meetings will be held on Thursday, March 30th at 700p.
The meeting will be held at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium in the Track and Field Team Room.

Complete information about the 2017 Spring/Summer season will be provided. Registration fees can also be paid at the meeting. The first practice for eligible athletes will be on Thursday, April 6th at 600p.
For planning purposes we have finalized the following base registration pricing structures –
– Join in April – $180
– Join in May – $160
– Join in June – $140
– Join in July – $120
All fees include –
– Coaching and training by experienced Coaches and athletes
– Practice on the Wichita State University Cessna Stadium Track
– Team Wristband
– Free participation in the Shocker Summer Series Thursday Night Track Meets in June and July at Cessna Stadium

New Leadership for Officials Group and Youth Track Team Announced
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointments of Mike Holladay as Director of Officials, and Stephanie Knab as Director of the Youth Team. Mike, a long-time USATF National Level Official, will provide strong oversight and experience in organizing Officials for WSUT&F and STC meets. Mike can be contacted at officials@shockertrackclub.com. Stephanie, a recent graduate of Wichita State and the Track and Field Team as a High Jumper, is a Science Teacher at Curtis Middle School. She will provide strong organizational skills and a strong knowledge of Track and Field in her new leadership role. Congratulations to Mike and Stephanie!
Youth Outdoor Track and Field
Shocker Track Club Youth Outdoor practice will return this spring/summer with practices at Wichita State University’ Cessna Stadium Track. Practices will begin in early April. Informational meetings will be held in late March. Athletes between the ages of 5 and 19 are eligible to participate. If you have any questions, or would like to be contacted, send an email to youth@shockertrackclub.com. This will be an exciting year with the continuation of the Shocker Summer Series Meets on Thursdays in June/July, and the USATF Junior Olympics in Lawrence, Kansas, in late July.
Indoor Pole Vault Season Comes to a Close
The 2016-2017 Indoor Pole Vault season came to a close on Saturday completing four months of vaulting practice. Over 50 Pole Vaulters in ages ranging from middle school to Masters participated during the season at the USD259-Wichita Northeast Magnet High School in Bel Aire, Kansas.

There’s still time to register for the 2017 Shocker Track Club Bill Butterworth Indoor Masters, Open and Youth Indoor Meet – USATF Missouri Valley Association Masters Indoor Championship. The meet will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the Wichita State University Heskett Center.

The annual Shocker Track Club Bill Butterworth Indoor Masters Track Meet will again be held at Wichita State University’s Heskett Center. Complete information, as well as Online registration, will be available soon! This meet is again for Masters, Open and Youth competitors. Youth competitors can compete in the Pole Vault, and running events (not including hurdles) up to 1500m.
