Shocker Track Clubbers Compete in Sunflower Games

Several Shocker Track Club athletes braved the heat in Topeka to compete in the annual Sunflower Games on July 15th!  Competing were – Breckynn Lee (400m), Lauren Ealey (100m, 200m and 400m), Sue Nyberg (Long Jump, Discus and Hammer), Gage Larson (Pole Vault), Steve Wilson (100m), Joe Hoover (80H,  Triple Jump and Shot Put), and Nicholas Rodriguez (1500m and 3000m).

STC Youth Tracksters Perform Well in the USATF MVA Meet in the Joplin Heat

Thirty-three (33) Shocker Track Club Youth Athletes traveled to Joplin, Missouri to compete in the USATF Missouri Valley Association Qualifier Meet!  All competed well in the oppressive Joplin heat!  Eleven (11) Athletes qualified for the USATF Junior Olympics Meet that will be contested in Lawrence, Kansas, July 24-30, 2017!  Photographs are below!

2017 Junior Olympics Qualifiers are – Alec Grill (1500m), Will Niederee (1500m), Levi Allen (3000m), Caiden Unruh (3000m), Addie Curtis (1500m and 3000m), Gabriel Williams (100m and 200m), Nick Wetta (100H and 200H Hurdles), Cale Curtis (200m, 400m, Shot Put, and Discus), Isaac Smallwood (Triple Jump), Ollie McGee (100m and 200m), and Christal Mosley (200m, 400m, and High Jump)!

STC Jumps Fest – A Vaulting HOT Time!

Gosh it was hot! Hot! 96 degrees HOT!
But a great time was had by all at the 3rd Annual Shocker Track Club Jumps Fest!

Shocker Track Club Elite Team Member, Jack Whitt, won the Elite Competition with a vault of 5.30m – 17′-4-1/2″.  2016 Latvian Olympian, Pauls Pujats, finished 2nd at the same height.  Former Central Missouri Vaulter, Brittany Kallenberger, won the Women’s Elite competition with a vault of 3.18m, 12′-6″.

Individual competition winners were –
– Men’s Elite – Jack Whitt, Shocker Track Club Elite, 5.30m – 17′-4-1/2″
– Women’s Elite – Brittany Kallenberger, Unattached, 3.81m – 12′-6″
– Open/Youth Men – Kristopher Wood, Shocker Track Club Youth, 4.27m – 14′-0″
– Women’s Open – Sammy Van Hoecke, Unattached, 3.66m, 12′-0″
– Youth Girls – Breanna Schmitz, Tailwind Pole Vault Club, 3.35m, 10′-11-3/4″

Isaac Smallwood Jumps Well at Great Southwest Classic

STC Youth Team Member, Isaac Smallwood – 5A State Triple Jump Champion from Wichita Heights High – traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico to compete the in Great Southwest Classic.  Smallwood leaped 14.38m for a new PR of 47′-2’1/4″ to finish 8th!  Smallwood will attend Wichita State University  in the fall.

2017 Summer Jumps Fest Registration Now Available!

Online registration for the 2017 Shocker Track Club Summer Jumps Fest is now open at www.stcjumpsfest.com

Pole Vault competition will be contested for Youth, Elite, and Open competitors.  Awards will be provided to the top 4 placers in each category.

High Jump, Long Jump, and Triple Jump can be contested in Open/Elite (age 16 and above) if there are a minimum of four competitors for each event.

STC Youth Team Members Win State Track Championships!

Shocker Track Club Youth Team members Hannah Buller (Goddard-12 – 5A Pole Vault), Ryleigh Jackson (Goddard Eisenhower-11 – 5A Long Jump), Isaac Smallwood (Wichita Heights-12 – 5A Triple Jump), and Christal Mosely (Wichita Southeast-11 – 6A 200m and 400m) all claimed impressive State Championship victories at the Kansas State High School Athletic Association Track Championship meet! Alyssa Wheeler (Kapaun Mt Carmel-12) and Kris Wood (Derby-12) finished second in their respective 5A Pole Vault competitions.  Congratulations to Hannah, Ryleigh, Isaac, and Christal, and Alyssa and Kris for their outstanding performances!
