Shocker Track Club Elite team member Chandra Andrews and Wichita State junior Jeff Conner won their respective Shocker Track Club Weight Pentathlons on a cool but sunny Saturday at Cessna Stadium.
Andrews won the women’s competition with 3961 points ahead of WSU sophomore Emily Cook’s 3437. As expected Andrews won the Hammer (195-0) and Weight Throw (60-8.5). Cook won the Javelin and Shot Put while Shocker freshman Mariah Garcia won the discus.
Conner outlasted senior teammate Chris Dubree 3564 to 3023 while a tight battle for 3rd place went to Adam Esau (2965) over Taylor Goldsmith (2950). Conner’s only victory was in his specialty the discus (154-6) but also placed 2nd in the Hammer and Weight. Weston Cottrell won both the Hammer and Weight while John Rizzo won the Javelin.
