Throws Pentathlon Ends Before It Pours!
The 2017 STC Throws Pentathlon completed competition just prior to a torrential downpour Saturday afternoon at Wichita State University’s Throws Venues.
Shocker Track Club Elite Team member, Skylar Arneson, won the Men’s Open competition with 3548 points after winning the individual competitions in the Hammer, Shot Put, and Weight Throw. Isaiah Evans finished second with 31 56 points.
Meagan Williams won the Women’s Open competition with 3674 points after winning the individual competitions in the Hammer, Javelin and Weight Throw. Kelsey Slawson finished second with 3496 points.
Dave Brandt, won the Men’s Masters competition with 2613 points.
Myrle Mensey, competing in Masters 65-69, won the Women’s Masters competition with 2445 points

Attention STC Throws Pentathlon Participants – TIME CHANGE!
Due to projected rain and storms on Saturday afternoon, competition start has been moved to 10:00 a.m. Registration and implement certification will thus begin at 9:00 a.m.
The order of competition will also be changed as follows – Hammer, Javelin, Discus. Shot Put and Weight Throw will be conducted indoors at the Wichita State Heskett Center. Contact Darren Muci at 316-993-6824 or president@shockertrackclub.com if you have questions!

Shocker Track Club is pleased to introduce a new initiative – Shocker Track Backers!
The Shocker Track Backers (STB) is a fan based effort focused on promoting WSU Track and Field / Cross Country. STB provides encouragement for athletes through media coverage of events and meets, while bringing comprehensive coverage of WSU T&F XC to Shocker Fans. STB also serves as a conduit in providing the opportunity for the financial support of the WSU T&F XC program.
STB is an independent, fan based organization and not affiliated with, nor receiving any financial contribution from, Wichita State University. Any photographs or journalistic comments found on the STB website site do not express the official nor unofficial policy of Wichita State University or any department therein. Sponsorship opportunities are available on the STB website with all proceeds going to Wichita State University Track and Field / Cross Country and expenses necessary to maintain the STB website. Sponsorships and Donations to STB are tax deductible as Shocker Track Club is a 501C3 non-profit organization.

Track and Field Officials interested in officiating 2017 – 2018 Wichita State University Track and Field meets are invited to an informational meeting on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at the Wichita State University Track and Field Team Room at Cessna Stadium. It was a glorious day for the 2017 STC Wichita Outdoor Masters and USATF Missouri Valley Association Outdoor Masters Meet featuring the 2nd Annual Envision 100m Dash for Blind and Visually Impaired Athletes! 102 athletes – including 12 Envision clients – participated!

STC Road Racing Team Unveils Team Jerseys!
The new Shocker Track Club Road Racing Team modeled their new team jerseys earlier this week!
The STC Road Racing Team is for the casual and competitive adult runner that desires to improve their capabilities and performances with goals of competing in various road racing, cross country, and track events. Emerging Elite, and Elite athletes are welcome.
The annual membership fee is $110 and includes: coaching, coaching strategies, strategic practicing, a team competition jersey, shoe purchase discount at team sponsor First Gear Running Company, and a donation to the team foundation to support Road Racing Team Elite athletes.
