Outdoor Masters Meet and Envision 100m Dash a Success!
An amended schedule implemented due to the threat of thunderstorms provided the backdrop for the Fifth Annual Shocker Track Club Wichita Outdoor Masters Track Meet. This year the meet was also the USATF Missouri Valley Association 2016 Outdoor Masters Championship featuring the inaugural Envision 100m Dash event for blind and visually impaired athletes competing under USATF rules for Paralympic athletes.
The meet also included an appearance by Wichita State University sprinter Deja Young! Deja Young, the 100 and 200 Gold Medalist at the Rio Paralympic Games visited with the Envision athletes prior to their competition. Click here for the video interview by KSN-Wichita.
Several outstanding performances were achieved before thunderstorms entered the Wichita area causing the early termination of the meet.
