Track and Field Officials interested in officiating 2017 – 2018 Wichita State University Track and Field meets are invited to an informational meeting on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at the Wichita State University Track and Field Team Room at Cessna Stadium.  A meal will be served.  Please RSVP to president@shockertrackclub.com if you plan to attend.

STC Wichita Outdoor Masters Results – UPDATED!

It was a glorious day for the 2017 STC Wichita Outdoor Masters and USATF Missouri Valley Association Outdoor Masters Meet featuring the 2nd Annual Envision 100m Dash for Blind and Visually Impaired Athletes!  102 athletes – including 12 Envision clients – participated!

Attention Masters Sprinters – Wichita State KT Woodman Track Classic

Calling all Masters Sprinters!  The Wichita State University KT Woodman Track Classic meet is open to Masters in the 100m, 200m, and 400m races again this year, thanks to WSU Head Coach Steve Rainbolt and Assistant Head Coach John Wise.   We will have Masters Heats with the College Division on Saturday, April 15th.   All ages will run together in one heat and entries are limited to eight (8) for each event.

We have three indications of interest for the 100 and 200 so far.  Please contact Amazing Larry Staton at masters@shockertrackclub.com if you want to run.

Volunteers for WSU Track & Field Meets Needed!

If you are looking for a fun opportunity to assist in the facilitation of a Wichita State University Track and Field meet, we’ve got a deal for you!  Actually three (3) deals!  Wichita State University will host three T&F meets this spring – April 13-15, May 5, and May 12-14 – at Cessna Stadium.  Volunteers are provided with an event t-shirt and meals and beverages.  We need you!!

STC Sanctions Heartland Golden Games

Shocker Track Club will sponsor and has sanctioned through USATF The Heartland Golden Games as the Missouri Valley Association Senior Masters Championship meet for athletes age 50 and older.  The meet will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Friends University’s Hoyt Athletic Field in Wichita, Kansas.  Friends University is at 2100 West University Street.

STC Bill Butterworth Indoor Recap and Results

It was a beautiful day, inside and outside, for a track meet!  And the competition and results didn’t disappoint as over 150 Masters, Open, Youth, Collegiate, and Elite athletes showcased a multitude of skills in establishing many new personal records.

Wichita’s own Bob Lida (Masters 80-84) set an unofficial World Record in the 200m with a time of 30.01!  The meet also served as the inaugural race for members of the STC Road Racing Team, as members Curt Rierson (3000m) and Emily Maier (1500m) won their age group races.  Additionally, several Shocker Track Club Elite and Open Team members (Austin Bahner, Aaron Babbidge, Joshua Manual, and Caydrick Bloomquist) performed well.

2017 Bill Butterworth Indoor Masters Indoor Meet

Attention, Masters, Open and Youth Athletes!
SAVE THE DATE!!  Saturday, January 28, 2017
The annual Shocker Track Club Bill Butterworth Indoor Masters Track Meet will again be held at Wichita State University’s Heskett Center.  Complete information, as well as Online registration,  will be available soon!  This meet is again for Masters, Open and Youth competitors.   Youth competitors can compete in the Pole Vault, and running events (not including hurdles) up to 1500m.

Beautiful Day for the Throws Pentathlon

Temperatures in the 70s and sunny skies provided for a beautiful backdrop for the 2016 STC Throws Pentathlon!  Skylar Arneson won the Men’s competition with 4017 points.  Bruce Cook, competing in Masters 50-54, finished second overall with 2990 points.  Mike Bell (Masters 65-69) with 1872 points, and Charles Shrader (Masters 65-69) with 1821 competed extremely well in the Masters competition.

Kelsey Slawson won the Women’s competition with 3532 points, with Tyra Bickham finishing second with 3111.  Kay Glynn competing in Masters 60-64 (1952 points) and Cindy Cook competing in Masters 50-54 (1742) were the only Masters Women competitors.

Shocker Track Club Elite Team member Austin Bahner competed in select events, as did Shocker Track Club Open Team member, Tobias Boese who finished fourth.

Registration Now Open for the 2016 Throws Pentathlon!

Like to throw stuff?  Registration is now open for the STC Throws Pentathlon – Hammer, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin and Weight Throw – on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium.

This USATF sanctioned competition is for Elite, Open, Collegiate, and Masters athletes.  Masters athletes must bring their own implements.  Check in begins at 9:30 a.m., competition begins at 10:30 a.m.

The $25 registration fees provides a t-shirt, lunch, and beverages during the meet.  Come on out for a fun day of spirited announcing, lively music, and friendly competition!
