Throws Pentathlon Ends Before It Pours!
The 2017 STC Throws Pentathlon completed competition just prior to a torrential downpour Saturday afternoon at Wichita State University’s Throws Venues.
Shocker Track Club Elite Team member, Skylar Arneson, won the Men’s Open competition with 3548 points after winning the individual competitions in the Hammer, Shot Put, and Weight Throw. Isaiah Evans finished second with 31 56 points.
Meagan Williams won the Women’s Open competition with 3674 points after winning the individual competitions in the Hammer, Javelin and Weight Throw. Kelsey Slawson finished second with 3496 points.
Dave Brandt, won the Men’s Masters competition with 2613 points.
Myrle Mensey, competing in Masters 65-69, won the Women’s Masters competition with 2445 points

Attention STC Throws Pentathlon Participants – TIME CHANGE!
Due to projected rain and storms on Saturday afternoon, competition start has been moved to 10:00 a.m. Registration and implement certification will thus begin at 9:00 a.m.

STC Road Racing Team Unveils Team Jerseys!
The new Shocker Track Club Road Racing Team modeled their new team jerseys earlier this week!
The STC Road Racing Team is for the casual and competitive adult runner that desires to improve their capabilities and performances with goals of competing in various road racing, cross country, and track events. Emerging Elite, and Elite athletes are welcome.
The annual membership fee is $110 and includes: coaching, coaching strategies, strategic practicing, a team competition jersey, shoe purchase discount at team sponsor First Gear Running Company, and a donation to the team foundation to support Road Racing Team Elite athletes.

Meet STC and Shocker Track Stars!
Tuesday, August 1, 2017, the Shocker Track Club will host a social event at Third Place Brewing at 7:00pm (630 East Douglas, Wichita, KS). On hand will be former Shockers, and current Shocker Track Club Elite Team Members, Austin Bahner and Tonya Nero, as well as current stars Hunter Veith and Deja Young. The event is open to the public so come to downtown Wichita for a fun evening with the Shocker Track & Field community!

The Shocker Track Club (STC) is excited and pleased to announce the formation of its fifth athletics team – Road Racing!
The informational meeting and inaugural practice will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 3, 2017, on the track at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium. Park in the small lot of 21st Street between the stadium and the Charles Koch Area Aetna Multi-Purpose Gymnasium.

Bahner Competes in the Heat in USA Nationals in Sacramento
After an unfortunate no-height in the Pole Vault, Shocker Track Club Elite Team Member, Austin Bahner, completed the Javelin and 1500m in valiant fashion to finish in 13th place with 6761 points in the Decathlon in the 2017 USATF National Championship Meet in the heat of Sacramento, California!

Nero and Manuel Put in Work on the Road and Track!
Shocker Track Club Elite Road Racing Team member, Tonya Nero, competed in the Gary Bjorklund Half Marathon on June 17th in Duluth, Minnesota. Tonya finished 6th in 1:16:01 for a new PR!

Shocker Track Club Elite T&F Team member, Joshua Manuel, competed in the 2017 USATF South Texas Association Open Masters Champion meet in San Antonio, Texas. Joshua won the open 100m with a time of 10.53.

STC Jumps Fest – A Vaulting HOT Time!
Gosh it was hot! Hot! 96 degrees HOT!
But a great time was had by all at the 3rd Annual Shocker Track Club Jumps Fest!
Shocker Track Club Elite Team Member, Jack Whitt, won the Elite Competition with a vault of 5.30m – 17′-4-1/2″. 2016 Latvian Olympian, Pauls Pujats, finished 2nd at the same height. Former Central Missouri Vaulter, Brittany Kallenberger, won the Women’s Elite competition with a vault of 3.18m, 12′-6″.
Individual competition winners were –
– Men’s Elite – Jack Whitt, Shocker Track Club Elite, 5.30m – 17′-4-1/2″
– Women’s Elite – Brittany Kallenberger, Unattached, 3.81m – 12′-6″
– Open/Youth Men – Kristopher Wood, Shocker Track Club Youth, 4.27m – 14′-0″
– Women’s Open – Sammy Van Hoecke, Unattached, 3.66m, 12′-0″

Austin Bahner and Tobias Boese Post Big Numbers in Texas
Shocker Track Club Elite Team Member Austin Bahner, and Open Team Member, Tobias Boese, competed in the Decathlon at the 2017 Texas Greatest Athlete Meet in Dallas, Texas on June 3-4! Bahner posted a new PR of 7850 in winning the competition! Boese posted a score of 6818 in finishing 5th! Bahner’s mark automatically qualifies him for the USATF National Championship Meet in Sacramento in late June!
