Elite Team Throwers Head to the Desert
Competing in a stacked field, STC Elite Team Member Chris Cralle threw a PR of 246-11 (75.26m) on Thursday (5/22), and followed that with a throw of 241-08 (73.67m) on Saturday (5/24) to win both Hammer Throw competitions in the Tucson (AZ) Elite Throws Classic. Fellow Elite Team Member Matt Byers competed in the Javelin on Saturday (5/24) and finished 11th with a throw of 225-09 (68.81m). Results are available at this link >> Tucson Elite Throws Results
Elite Team Back in Action Placing High
STC Elite Team members Chris Cralle (Hammer – 2nd place with 74.29m), Chandra Andrews (Hammer – 1st place with 62.25m), Jon Rizzo (Javelin – 2nd place with 65.33m), and Tomas Cotter (800m – 1st place with 1:51.93) competed in the Wildcat Open at Kansas State University on Saturday, May 10th. Andrews then traveled to the Sam Williams Twilight Qualifier at Emporia State University for another Hammer throwing victory (58.45m), and the opportunity to meet up with teammates Matt Byers (Javelin – 1st place with 73.03m) and Joshua Manual (100m – 1st place with 10.66).
Elite Team Turns Up The Heat!
Elite Team Members Chris Cralle (Hammer), John Rizzo (Javelin), and Chandra Andrews (Hammer) competed in the Emporia State University Mid-Week Open on April 23rd and posted impressive victories. Elite Team Gets Busy!
Elite Team members Chris Cralle, Chandra Andrews, Tomas Cotter, Matt Byers, John Rizzo and Danielle Chapman all competed at the Wichita State KT Woodman Class, with Cralle, Andrews and Cotter all posting impressive victories in the Men’s Hammer, Women’s Hammer, and Men’s 1500m, respectively! Matt Byers finished 2nd in the Men’s Javelin. Chandra Andrews also hosted Nike’s Ryann Krais who competed in the meet. Elite Team Members Play Outside!
Elite Team members Chris Cralle, Chandra Andrews, Matt Byers and Jon Rizzo took their throwing toys to Emporia, KS for the ESU Spring Open. Shocker Track Club Elite Team members Chris Cralle, Chandra Andrews, Fernada Blakely, and Darius Draudvila returned to action in the Wichita State University Herm Wilson Indoor Invitational. STC Weight Pentathlon Results
It was another successful Shocker Track Club Weight Pentathlon at Wichita State University on October 26, 2013. 36 athletes competed in the 5-event competition that included the Shot Put, Discus, Hammer, Javelin, and Weight. STC’s Chandra Andrews won the women’s overall title with 3979 points while Will Lohman won the men with 3829.
There were some incredible performances at the meet. Most notable were two new STC Elite Team members Chris Cralle and Jon Rizzo. Cralle, who placed 2nd at the USA Outdoor Championships in 2013, threw the Hammer 242-3 while Rizzo, an all-American for WSU last year, won the Javelin with a toss of 209-3. Both marks are very impressive performances for October.

STC Annual Throws Pentathlon
The 2nd Annual STC Throws Pentathlon will be held October 26, 2013 at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium and Throws Field.
Women will begin at 1230p with Men to follow. Weigh-ins will begin at 1100a. A meal will be provided for participants.
