Curtis Siblings Finish Strong at AAU Junior Olympics

STC Youth Team members Addie and Cale Curtis both achieved the equivalent of All-American status in two events in the AAU Junior Olympics in Houston, Texas!  Addie finished 6th in the 3000m with a time of 11:18.15 and 8th in the 1500m with a time of 5:08.42.! Cale finished 3rd in the Discus with a throw of 134′-11″, and 7th in the Shot Put with a throw of 40′-7-3/4″!

Other STC Youth Team members competing in the AAU JO’s included, Jaden Mitchell, Nick Wetta, Will Niederee, and Elijah Clark!

The annual Shocker Track Club Outdoor Masters – USATF Missouri Valley Association Masters Championship – Meet will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium!

We are pleased to announce the following changes this year –

To receive a USATF Missouri Valley Association Masters Championship medal, you MUST be a member of USATF and provide your Membership Number.  Click here for USATF Membership Information.
(Non USATF Member Medalists will receive the Shocker Track Club Masters/Open medals.)

  • ONLINE REGISTRATION through Google Forms is available now.
  • ENVISION of Wichita, Kansas is a strategic partner and generous sponsor of Shocker Track Club Volunteers Group.  Eligible athletes MUST Contact Hannah Christenson of Envision for registration details.
  • The Opening Ceremony will be held at 1:00 P.M.  when we will recognize all of our Field Event Medalists.
  • The 55 Meter Hurdles will be added this year.
  • The Field Events will be run with a time schedule this year with a rolling schedule implemented for certain events.  But, a rolling schedule will NOT be used for the running events.
  • Youth athletes may compete in the Pole Vault again this year.
  • The Francois Boda Combo Challenge!  We are going to run the Senior Masters 300 Meter Dash, the 300 and 400 Meter Hurdles at the same time while Francois tries to run all of us down as he runs a 400 Meter Dash.   We will run heats to accommodate younger Masters and Open athletes in the 300 Meter Dash and 300/400 Hurdles.

Bahner Finishes 7th; US Men & Women Sweep Thorpe Cup

STC Elite Team member, Austin Bahner, finished seventh in the Decathlon in the 2016 Thorpe Cup competition with 7593 points!  The USA Men (38,845 to 37,427) and Women (18,320 to 16,421) swept both competitions over Germany in the annual competition held in Fayetteville, Arkansas on the University of Arkansas campus!

Austin Bahner Competes in Thorpe Cup

STC Elite Team Member Austin Bahner began competing in his third Thorpe Cup Decathlon competition in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Friday.  He is currently in 6th place overall.  Wichita State University Head Track and Field Coach, Steve Rainbolt, is the Head Men’s Decathlete Coach for this prestigious event! STC Youth Team Members Making Positive Moves

Youth Team Members Isaac Smallwood and Madison Castillo received accolades recently by being acknowledged for their work in the classroom and on the track.  Smallwood, a 6A Triple Jump medalist and horizontal jumper from Wichita Heights High School, was appointed to the prestigious Teen Heroes group of the Wichita-based Real Men Real Heroes (www.realmenrealheroes.org) mentoring organization!  Teen Heroes serve as role models for younger children in the greater Wichita area.  Castillo, a 2015 and 2016 U.S. Paralympic long jumper and recent graduate of Maize High School, will continue her education and athletic career at Friends University in the fall as a member of the Friends Falcon Track and Field Team!  Congratulations to Isaac and Madison and their parents for their great work as students and athletics.  #LIMITLESS
