Wichita State Track & Field Hosts Envision 100m Race
Wichita State University Track and Field hosted a 100m dash race for Blind and Visually Impaired athletes in today’s KT Woodman Track Classic! Dubbed the “Envision 100m”, it provides another opportunity to celebrate the relationship between Shocker Track Club, Wichita State University Track and Field, and Envision. Envision is the current sponsor of the Shocker Track Club Volunteer Group. Hannah Christenson, Support Program Coordinator, and Bonnie Cochran, Director, Support Programs, coordinated the participation by several blind or visually impaired (Paralympic) athletes. Several Wichita State University Track and Field athletes: Raianna Maples, Leah Reichenberger, All-Americans Jared Belardo, Nikki Larch-Miller and Taylor Larch-Miller, and Volunteer Assistant Coach, Alexis Montgomery, served as “guide runners” for the participating athletes! A BIG thank-you goes to Wichita State Assistant Director of Track and Field, John Wise, for coordinating the event!
